The Luminary Hotel & Co in Ft. Myers is a new luxury boutique property that sits right on the Caloosahatchee River in the River District. This hotel is part of the Marriott Autograph Collection. It is thoughtfully designed and named The Luminary to pay homage to Thomas Edison who’s well known winter retreat also sits on the Caloosahatchee River.
As you walk through the lobby and common spaces of this stunning hotel you will notice that all of the light fixtures are unique statements that dual in function as well beauty. There are photos of Edison in his earlier years as well. I loved that this hotel found a way to pull in local culture into an epic design and theme.

The lobby was open concept. Designed with a beautiful mix of textures and although open, it was thoughtfully sectioned off for multiple groups to feel like they had their own little space to relax at. On the main level of the hotel you will find the lobby bar, the hotel’s Dinner restaurant, and a cafe for drinks and light bites to go.
I stayed in the King Room Chaise Lounge. The room was bright and modern. The linens were luxurious, and like the rest of the hotel, it had really cool light fixtures! The best part of my room was the view!
The hotel is well located near 1st street where you can find shops and dining, however I chose to spend my free time at the pool instead of exploring the hotel’s surrounding area. The pool is located on the 4th floor of the hotel and has an amazing view of the river.
On my first night at the Luminary & Co, Ft. Myers I chose to visit their rooftop bar called Beacon Social Drinkery. This is the perfect place for sunset drinks in Ft. Myers. Even if you are not staying at the Luminary you can still visit the rooftop for cocktails. Reservations are needed either way.
The restaurant of the Luminary Hotel which offers dinner service is called the The Silver King Ocean Brasserie. Dining here was a highlight of my stay! The food was fantastic as was the service. I enjoyed the Silver King salad to start followed by the Bone-in Fillet with broccolini. I also sampled their Flounder and mashed potatoes. The server made sure to pair our dinner choices with the most fitting wine option on the menu.
On my last morning in Ft. Myers I enjoyed Ella Mae’s diner at the Luminary Hotel & Co. This retro inspired cafe is super Instagramable! I had avocado toast and pancakes which were delicious!
If I ever find myself in Ft. Myers again I will surely be staying at the Luminary Hotel again. This property really had everything needed to make for an amazing vacation!
***My stay at the Luminary, Ft. Myers was hosted. As always, all opinions are own.
